We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2026 International Conference on English-Medium Education (EME), hosted by the Department of English at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

The conference will be held on 7–8 May 2026 at Yasumoto International Academic Park (YIA), CUHK, in a hybrid format (on-site and online).

The theme of this year’s conference is: “Navigating English-medium Education in the Digital Age: Multilingualism, AI, and Academic Literacy.”

The conference aims to bring together educators, researchers, and practitioners to explore how English-medium instruction (EMI) is evolving in response to rapid developments in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and increasingly multilingual classrooms. It will offer valuable insights into pedagogy, academic literacy, and teacher development in EMI contexts.

We are honoured to host internationally renowned plenary speakers, including:

• Professor Slobodanka Dimova (University of Copenhagen)
• Professor Maria Kuteeva (Stockholm University)
• Professor Ana Llinares (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid)
• Professor Ursula Wingate (King’s College London)

The programme will feature:
